As you have already noticed…at least I hope you have…the site has undergone a little bit of an update. This has been a project of mine for a little over a year, and the goal was to be able to make it easily updated, easily navigable, and extremely informative and interactive. With the new site, all of the posts on the website will be saved and will be able to be viewed by navigating through the topics on the left of the page through the categories.

As always, The Trestleboard is still available on the site to print off if you did not receive one in the mail or if you misplaced your paper copy.

The calendar is hosted by Google so if you already have a Google account, you take the events on the Lodge calendar and add them to your personal calendar for your reference.

The pictures for the site are not currently hosted anywhere, but I do still have them. I am looking into a site to be able to host them for us and can be updated very easily.

The Officers page is up to date as of our Installation on November 19th.

We are currently exploring the cost and options on getting lodge shirts made. These are going to be polo shirts with our lodge logo on them that can be purchased. More details of this will come at a later time.

Our installation of officers will be on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. and this year the annual Christmas Party will be held on Sunday, December 18, 2011. I am looking forward to all of you and your families attending and celebrating the holiday together.

I am a great believer of family values which has been passed down to me through many generations of my family. My father, Jobie Dotson P.M., has had the great honor of serving as Worshipful Master of this great lodge two separate terms, first in 1983 at the exact same age as I am now, and most recently in 2009.  My father has been a great role model and mentor for me in this journey; he has instilled in me what a privilege it is to be part of a masonic family. The bond that links family is not always one of blood, but of respect and joy in each other’s life. Rarely do members of one family grow up under the same roof. I would like to thank my father for teaching me the great values of family and showing me his love for the Masonic Order.

With great honor I am looking forward to serving as Worshipful Master this year.  I would like to take time to thank officers that will be serving with me this next year.  I am looking forward to working with all of you this year and I will be looking to you for assistance with some of the upcoming events we have planned for the year.  I would like to thank Roy Kurka for the great job he has done serving as Worshipful Master over this last year.

As the winter months and the holiday season approach, please remember those in need.  Let us all take time to check on our elderly family and neighbors. Let’s remember those that are serving our great country in the armed forces and their families.

The past 12 months has been a great journey for me as your Worshipful Master. I have enjoyed every single aspect of being in the East. There has not been one event or instance where I regret it. This has truly been an emotional journey as the only thing that could have made my year that much better, would have been to have my grandfather next to me in the East. I want to thank all of my officers this year for giving me everything they have as far as degree work and effort for this term. Their willingness to help out whenever needed was a great encouragement and made my job that much easier. I congratulate Bro. Joe Dotson as being elected for this coming term, and am excited, just as he is, to see what this year brings for our Lodge.

Our installation this year will be on November 19th at 7:30 pm. Officers will need to be there at 6:45 pm to go over last minute details. We also have the Past Masters Convocation that day in the morning. To my knowledge it will begin at 8:00 am. The Past Master Convocation is a great place for all of the officers to go through some workshops to help prepare them for their year as master. I strongly encourage the officers to attend if at all possible.

Again, I thank everyone for their help, encouragement, and prayers this year; they did not go unnoticed!

• August 20th – Family Picnic – The flyer for this will also be in the next newsletter. Our picnic will be held at the Al Koran Shrine in Broadview Hts. Be sure to get your reservation in for this as soon as possible as well

We will reconvene on September 7th at 7:30pm. We will have 3 Fellow Craft Exams that night and we will announce then when we will confer the Master Mason Degree! This meeting will also be the night where all of the officers will move up in the line and take the station of the office they will “hopefully” be elected to in September. Be sure to start looking over your parts so that you are familiar with them in September!

As by now I am sure you have noticed, the website has once again gone under a bit of maintenance. There are some new features that I will be able to do with the new site to make it more interactive. The contents of the site will still be the same as before (Calendar, Trestleboard links, Contact Us, etc) but the site will be updated more frequently! Take some time and explore the site! Please let me know if you have any ideas, and feel free to point out any mistakes or changes that need to be addressed. I hope that you will enjoy the new look and the features that will be popping up from time to time!
